I have been to Las Vegas. It can be a happy experience, but then I’m no gambler. The market is there to fleece you if you are reckless. For that reason we cannot simply take a trade like a casino punter. We make considered trades. Some might say we are ‘betting’ on a direction. Consider that we like to tip the odds in our favour. Typically we take trades that profit if the market moves. We take trades that profit if the market doesn’t move. We take trades that profit if the market moves apparently against us. Because we trade relationships. Because we do the hard yards before placing the trade. And it is because options are multi dimensional that we are not prey to the gambling addiction.

Smart Trading Beats Luck

Somebody once said “The more I trade the luckier I get”. You will find this out for yourselves if you choose the smart route to trading profits. There are thousands of traders who are gambling- because they have no control over their bets. Forex, futures. You need to be right. Your wins need to be at least twice as big as the losers. Worst of all statistically it is certain that you will have 10 consecutive losers. Don’t gamble. Because, unless you ARE the Casino, you will lose. We trade as if we are the casino, knowing the odds.
